G. K. Genius (4-9 years)

  • The class is given encyclopedic knowledge, facts and information. I like to think of the facts that I present to the children in a fun way as ‘bits of intelligence’ as it literally grows his/her brain.
  • Based on the information provided, the class either does an art of craft activity or a worksheet.
  • This is followed by a story telling session related to the topic for the day.
  • Various teaching aides such as puppets and flannel board stories are used to make the learning experience fun.
  • Games are played to reinforce what has been learnt.
  • The topics cover the animal kingdom, countries, current affairs, sports and trivia.
  • These are few of the things that the children learn:
    • A tuatara has three eyes.
    • What is the job of a palaeontologist?
    • What does the idiom 'a piece of cake' mean?
    • Pinocchio is an old Italian story.
    • They will be able to explain why 'The Ugly Duckling' is based on the life of the author Hans Christian Anderson.
    • They craft a didgeridoo which is an aboriginal musical instrument.
    • On hearing the story ‘Fred the Footballs Day out in Germany', they learn Adi Dassler was from Germany and he made the first Adidas shoes.

The human brain capacity is ten times the capacity of the national archives of the USA. Hence, it is imperative to stimulate a young child’s mind.

Class is conducted once a week for one hour and thirty minutes.
